Darkside Digital was one of the first small press horror eBook publisher and seller to hit the market, predating the rise of Amazon’s Kindle. Readers got INSTANT downloads of the best horror fiction being published! The major digital formats such as PDF, MOBI and EPUB were available and DRM-free.
Shane Staley built the site using the Russian-based php X-cart software to utilize as the digital distributor to this publishing project Delirium Books. With the growing trend forcing publishers toward digital, Darkside Digital was the stepping stone to DarkFuse which eventually rose as the dominant imprint, capable to embracing the new technology of ebooks by being more of a mass market publisher.
This site was discontinued after Amazon began heavy promotions of its new Kindle and self-publishing platform which DarkFuse relied heavily on for its distribution.
